Roşia Montană Gold Corporation (RMGC) is a company established in 1997, in Alba County, whose shareholders are the mining state company Minvest Roșia Montană S.A - with 19.31% and Gabriel Resources – with 80.69%. RMGC is due to develop the most modern mine in Romania, in Roşia Montană, bringing major benefits to the Romanian economy. As a model mine, Roşia Montană Project will set up a new standard for responsible gold mining, both at the level of the European Union and worldwide.
Gabriel Resources is listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange (GBU symbol).
The total investment for the development of the mining project is estimated at 1.7 billion dollars.

Dragos Tanase joined Roşia Montană Gold Corporation in February 2008, coming from the largest cable communications operator in Romania, UPC. Within UPC, Dragoş coordinated the merger of two large cable operators, UPC and Astral Telecom, which combined employed a workforce of 3,600 people and held the position of Chief Financial Officer for 7 years. Previously, Dragoş Tănase – an expert in financial management – worked in financial and business consultancy, first at the Ministry of Finance and then with Arthur Andersen, providing consultancy for Romania’s major industrial sectors. He accepted the challenge of managing Roşia Montană Gold Corporation after a personal one-year assessment of the mining industry potential as well as the project context.
